About the gallery
Admission to the gallery is free. Our exhibitions frequently include artist talks and workshops. Some works are available for purchase.
We are open from 10am daily, closing at 8pm on weekdays and 4pm at weekends.
What’s On
The First Exhibition
10 July – 15 October
Toi Aro is proud to present The First Exhibition in our Te Ara Toi Gallery, a collection of mana whenua art, taonga, and stories featuring Mana Wahine ringatoi who are mana whenua to Te Whanganui-a-Tara: Ariki Brightwell, Elena Rei, Hinemoana Baker, Kauia Moriarty, and more. The exhibition also includes an artwork from the late Erenora Puketapu-Hetet.
Our artists will showcase a range of forms broadly touching on Waharua Kōpito, Puanga, Kōkopu and Te Taiao to celebrate us grounding in our new whare.
